Domain History

I purchased the CougarNuts domain name in 2002 and started the page as a message board for Mercury Cougar and Ford Thunderbird drivers. It was built using vBulletin with a front end called vbPortal.

Some time in 2003-4, I dropped the main page from the site and redirected directly to a message board only. Continued to use vBulletin as the software behind the scenes, but the vbPortal was too much to maintain and was not used frequently.

The site moved away from being a bulletin board between 2004 and 2009. With all the social media platforms coming out, the need for a dedicated bulletin board was decreasing. In 2009 I shifted the focus of the page to just a standard blog and update page for my own personal Cougar.
